Dr Gary Brodin

Dr Brodin was awarded a 1st Class Honours degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Leeds in 1994 and a Ph.D in 1997.

As well as a period working for Philips Systems Laboratory, Southampton he has been employed as a Research Engineer, Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow at the CAA Institute of Satellite Navigation (CAA ISN), University of Leeds. He has almost twelve years experience in the area of high performance Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) receiver design and development.

Before leaving the University of Leeds to establish PathTrack Limited with Dr Bryant, he was the Director of the CAA ISN; responsible for one of the leading UK research groups in the GNSS field. As well as managing a team of eight researchers (PhD students, postgraduates and post Doctoral) on EPSRC, EC and UK government-sponsored research contracts the role involved establishing a high profile within the UK and worldwide GNSS community.

His vast GNSS technical expertise and wide range of GNSS contacts are a great asset to PathTrack.
 

At present his role as a Director in PathTrack includes responsibility for embedded programming, host software and communications protocol development.

Dr Brodin's main areas of interest are: GNSS systems, low power embedded programming and real time tracking applications
